We know that these video tutorials can go a little fast sometimes and you might want to revise what you have just learned with out reviewing the whole movie. So to create type with an image background:

 

  1. Open the image you would like to use in Photoshop
  3. Go down to the layer palette and right click on the background layer
  5. Select copy layer
  7. Right click again on the background layer (the one that is locked) and click delete layer
  9. Now go to the top navbar and Layers. -> new
  11. On this new layer create your text
  13. Now click the image layer and drag it to the top of the layers palette so it is the top layer and you can no longer see the text
  15. Make sure the background layer is selected.
  17. Go to the top navbar again select Layer --> Create clipping Mask
  19.
